Painting is a vibrant form of self-expression that allows children to explore their creativity, emotions, and the world around them through color. This program introduces young artists to a variety of painting techniques, color theory, and artistic styles, helping them build confidence while developing control and precision in their brushwork.

Objective

The Painting program at Explorer’s Academy is designed to cultivate creativity, emotional expression, and artistic skill through guided exploration of painting techniques and materials. Children will learn how to use color purposefully, experiment with texture and layering, and bring their imaginations to life on canvas or paper.

Focus Area

Learning primary, secondary, and complementary colors.
Exploring brush techniques, blending, and layering.
Practicing different styles like abstract, landscape, and still life.
Working with various mediums: watercolor, poster color, acrylic, and tempera.

Session

45-minute sessions, twice a week

Warm-Up (5 min): Color mixing or free painting exercises.
Lesson (15 min): Introduction to a new technique, tool, or artist inspiration.
Practice (20 min): Painting activity with guided themes or still life setups.
Wrap-Up (5 min): Art sharing, discussion, and positive feedback.
